Design+Sensible’s project for the Fuori Salone 2023 is called ‘Fragility: Reflections on Our Time’.
Massimo Caiazzo’s installation Mother Nature becomes a ‘dynamic scenography’ and for three days hosts meetings with various authors on the fragility of our time.
We live in an era in which speed, changeability and intangibility have become characteristic features of both the dynamics of markets and, unfortunately, of relational and social dynamics, and recently also of those brought about by extraordinary events such as environmental emergencies, pandemics, migrations and wars.
The response to the relationship that each person has with the world in which they live generates different behaviours: one can be ductile or remain stuck. Whereas if you remain rigid there is no relationship but stasis, science shows that in elasticity a movement is required so that if you are plastic you deform but do not break. The feeling of fragility, individual and collective, cannot only be experienced as a lack, but must be felt as an opportunity for change by acting with sincere determination and trust in the vital relationship.
